100-Year-Old World War II veteran marries in France
CARENTAN-LES-MARAIS, FRANCE - JUNE 8: Harold Terens, 100 years old, married his fiancée, Jeanne Swerlin, 96 years old, this Saturday at the town hall of Carentan-les-Marais, near the beaches where the D-Day landing took place, on June 8, 2024 in Carentan-les-Marais, Normandy, France. On June 6, 1944, Terens repaired planes for the Battle of Normandy, later returned to transport captured Germans and freed American POWs to England, and after other missions, helped bring freed Allied prisoners to England following the Nazis' surrender in 1945 before returning to the U.S. a month later.
