MACEDONIA-POLICE-CHAKALA
Macedonian special police take ethnic Albanian guerilla commander Avdil Jakupi (C), also known as Chakala (Jackal) into custody 29 April 2004, at Skopje airport. Jakupi was arrested in Kosovo at the begining of the year, together with Dzemail Iseni, nicknamed Jamie Shea (NATO spokesman during the Kosovo war). The two are charged with kidnapping Macedonian policemen, planting a bomb which killed one person in front of a high-school in Kumanovo last year, bombing a rail-road in northern Macedonia and a number of other terror and criminal attacks, chiefly against non-Albanians in the northern Macedonia regions adjacent to Kosovo.
