CHILE-FRANCE-GERMANY-GEOGRAPHY-MOUNTAIN TOPS

French climber Philippe Reuter (C) speaks in a press conference in Santaigo, on May 17th, 2007, next to colleagues Marc Turrel (R) of France and Hector Parra -a Chilean from the Military Geographic Institute of Chile. The group informed about the results obtained after their ascent to the snowcapped volcano of Pissis in Argentina and to the Ojos del Salado volcano in Chile, and confirmed the Aconcagua in Argentina is definitively the highest mountain in the American continent with 6.962 metres. Nevertheless, the Ojos del Salado displaced the Pissis as the highest volcano in the world, and was confirmed as the second highest mountain in the continent with 6.891 metres over the sea level.
